Bilingual Mental Health Support for Individuals, Couples, and Families
Hi! I'm Vanessa, and I'm a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in Florida. Before earning my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, I practiced as a Clinical Psychologist in Latin America—an experience that shaped how I understand culture, family, and the many contexts that influence a person's mental health.
At Her Hope Behavioral Health, I bring eight years of clinical experience to my work with individuals, couples, and families. Over those years, I've supported patients through anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, and a wide range of mental health concerns.
How I Work
I take an integrative approach, which means our sessions are tailored to you rather than to a formula. I look at the different factors influencing your mental health—psychological, relational, cultural, and situational—and we build from there. I want you to feel understood and empowered in that process, and to leave therapy with your strength and sense of yourself intact.
A Little About Me
When I'm not with patients, you'll find me traveling, running, practicing yoga, or spending time at the beach.
Who I Work With
-
I'm an advocate for infertility awareness and perinatal mental health. The emotional weight of infertility—the treatment cycles, the hoping, the grief, the strain it can put on a relationship—is often carried quietly. So are the mental health challenges that come with pregnancy and the postpartum period. This work matters deeply to me, and I want it to be something patients can talk about openly rather than manage on their own.
-
Much of my work is with people who are carrying anxiety that won't quiet down, depression that has made ordinary days feel heavy, or trauma that still shapes how they move through the world. I also work with patients navigating phase-of-life changes—a new career, a move, a relationship ending, becoming a parent, or any of the transitions that can leave you feeling unmoored from who you thought you were.
-
I work with couples and families who are struggling to understand one another. Sometimes that looks like communication that keeps breaking down in the same places. Sometimes it looks like a family navigating a hard season together and feeling more alone in it than connected. My goal is to help you hear each other and rebuild the trust and closeness that makes those relationships feel steady again.
