Specialized Supervision For
Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns
Are you a Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern passionate about supporting women through their reproductive journey?
Meet Lexie
Hi! I’m Lexie,
One of my greatest passions is bringing up the next generation of therapists.
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist, and Qualified Supervisor with over 16 years of clinical experience. I'm also the Founder and Clinical Director of Her Hope Behavioral Health, one of the first behavioral health centers in South Florida dedicated exclusively to women's mental wellness and perinatal mental health.
My Journey to Supervision
I started my career working with underserved families in community agencies, where I realized that real,
lasting change happened when we got to the root of issues through skilled, compassionate counseling. That
revelation led me to pursue my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology and shaped my commitment to
clinical excellence.
My path took a deeply personal turn when I experienced postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and
perinatal OCD twice as a mother. Those experiences fundamentally changed how I practice and how I
supervise. I understand vulnerability, the healing process, and what it means to provide truly compassionate
care. This lived experience, combined with extensive clinical training, informs everything I teach.
What You'll Learn
I'm certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), EMDR trained, and have specialized training in reproductive
mental health and perinatal loss and third-party reproduction. As your supervisor, I'll help you develop
strong clinical skills in these specialized areas, along with trauma-informed care and evidence-based
practices. My clinical expertise spans working with pregnant and postpartum individuals and their partners,
women navigating infertility and pregnancy loss, reproductive health concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression,
and supporting women from adolescence through menopause.
My Approach to Supervision
I believe supervision should be collaborative, supportive, and genuinely focused on your growth. I remember what it's like to be where you are—learning, questioning, and working to find your clinical voice. My goal is to help you build a solid foundation while developing the confidence and competence to do this meaningful work with integrity and compassion.
You'll receive thoughtful guidance, practical skills, and the kind of mentorship that prepares you not just to meet licensure requirements, but to become the therapist your future clients will be grateful to have found. If you're looking for a supervisor who truly invests in your development and believes in the incredible clinician you're becoming, let's connect. I'd be honored to be part of your journey. -Lexie
“I'd love to support you on your journey to becoming a skilled, confident, and compassionate clinician.”
What’s In It For You?
Specialized Training That Sets You Apart
You'll gain expertise in some of the most in-demand and meaningful areas of mental health care: perinatal mental health, reproductive mental health, perinatal loss, third-party reproduction, and trauma-informed care. These specializations will not only make you a more confident and effective clinician, but they'll also open doors throughout your career. You'll learn to work with populations that desperately need skilled support—pregnant and postpartum individuals and their partners, women navigating infertility and loss, and women experiencing reproductive health challenges across the lifespan. This training goes far beyond what most graduate programs offer and will truly distinguish you as a clinician.
Mentorship That Goes Beyond the Checklist
Supervision with me isn't about rushing through requirements or simply signing off on hours. It's about thoughtful, collaborative growth where your questions are welcomed, your clinical voice is nurtured, and your development is genuinely prioritized. I remember what it's like to be in your shoes—the uncertainty, the learning curve, the desire to do this work well. You'll receive practical guidance, real-world clinical wisdom, and the kind of supportive mentorship that helps you build both competence and confidence. We'll work together to strengthen your clinical skills while helping you discover your unique therapeutic style.
A Foundation for Meaningful, Sustainable Practice
The skills and approach you develop during supervision will shape your entire career. You'll learn not just how to meet clients where they are, but how to create truly transformative therapeutic relationships. You'll understand how to practice with integrity, set healthy boundaries, and do this deeply emotional work sustainably. Whether you plan to specialize in perinatal mental health, work in private practice, or serve in another setting, the foundation we build together will prepare you to make a lasting impact while taking care of yourself along the way.

Frequently asked questions
-
I offer both individual and group supervision to meet your needs and preferences. Individual supervision provides one-on-one time for personalized guidance, case consultation, and focused skill development. Group supervision offers the opportunity to learn alongside peers, gain diverse perspectives on cases, and build a supportive community with other interns on similar journeys. Many supervisees find that combining both formats provides the richest learning experience.
-
Individual supervision sessions are held on Mondays at 6:00 PM. Group supervision sessions meet on Mondays at 4:00 PM. Both formats follow a consistent weekly schedule to support your ongoing development and ensure continuity in your learning.
Supervision is currently held via telehealth, which provides flexibility and accessibility. However, please note that each intern may be required to have supervision in person for at least 50 percent of the time (or at least once in person) pending emergency order endings for in-person supervision requirements. We'll discuss your specific requirements and ensure you're meeting all Board guidelines for licensure.
-
Individual supervision is $90.00 per session, and group supervision is $55.00 per session. These rates reflect my commitment to providing accessible, high-quality supervision that genuinely invests in your professional development.
-
Our supervision time is designed around your growth and learning needs. We'll focus on case conceptualization, treatment planning, developing your clinical skills, navigating ethical dilemmas, processing challenging cases, and building your confidence as a clinician. You'll also receive specialized training in perinatal mental health, reproductive mental health, trauma-informed care, and working with diverse populations. I tailor supervision to where you are in your development and what you need most.
-
Yes! My areas of expertise include perinatal mental health (pregnancy and postpartum), reproductive mental health, infertility and pregnancy loss, perinatal loss and third-party reproduction, perinatal OCD, ADHD in pregnancy, substance use recovery during pregnancy, trauma, anxiety, depression, and working with women and teenage girls. If you're working with clients in these areas—or want to develop skills in these specialties—I can provide focused guidance and training. That said, supervision covers all aspects of your clinical work, not just specialized populations.
-
My approach is collaborative, supportive, and focused on your growth. I believe in creating a safe space where questions are welcomed, mistakes are learning opportunities, and your clinical voice is nurtured. I'll challenge you to think critically and grow, but always with encouragement and respect for where you are in your journey. Supervision should feel supportive, not intimidating—we're a team working toward your success.
-
Absolutely! Many supervisees benefit from participating in both individual and group supervision. Individual sessions provide personalized attention and case-specific guidance, while group supervision offers peer learning and diverse perspectives. You're welcome to choose the format that works best for your needs, budget, and learning style, and we can adjust as your needs evolve.
Please remember, while we have some flexibility, we will still need to meet individually according to state standards.
