Couples and Family Therapy Rooted in Connection
Hi! My name is Clarissa. I specialize in working with couples and families, as well as individuals navigating relationship and attachment challenges.
I work from an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and systems-based perspective. In plain terms, I’m here to help you understand the emotions and relationship patterns that may be leaving you feeling stuck. Together, we can explore what’s underneath those patterns and work toward creating healthier, more secure connections.
I’m a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Florida in 2022, and my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University in 2026.
Between those degrees, I spent two years as a Registered Behavioral Technician supporting children ages 2–12 on the autism spectrum. That work gave me a strong foundation in child development, family dynamics, and the importance of meeting each person exactly where they are.
During my graduate internship in New Orleans, Louisiana, I worked with individuals, couples, and families from a wide range of backgrounds and concerns. I’m a member of the Louisiana Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy and have completed EFT training, along with my perinatal mental health training through PSI. It was through that clinical training, supervision, and my work with couples that I found where my passion lives.
How I Work
My therapeutic style is compassionate, down-to-earth, and collaborative. My goal is for you to feel heard and understood while building stronger connections and creating meaningful, lasting change.
You also deserve to know where therapy is headed and how we’re going to get there. You should feel comfortable asking, “What is your plan to help us?” — and feel confident in the answer.A Little About Me
Outside of work, you'll usually find me outdoors or working out. Physical health is an outlet for me and a steady reminder to be grateful for what my body can do. At home, there's my husband, my two kids, and our two dogs.
Who I Work With
-
Infertility takes over your calendar, your body, your relationship, and your sense of what your life was supposed to look like. Whether you're in the early stages of trying, cycling through IUIs or IVF, facing secondary infertility, or recovering from a procedure, I understand the emotional toll of treatment and the strain it can put on a marriage or partnership. You don't have to carry that quietly.
-
Losing a pregnancy is a particular kind of grief—one the world around you often doesn't know how to name, let alone hold. You may be mourning something no one else got to meet, while people expect you to have moved on already. I work with women and families through miscarriage, recurrent loss, and the complicated grief that follows, including the fear and anticipatory anxiety that come with trying again.
